Mireog

This women’s t-shirt is inspired by the Irish proverb: “Fásann níos mó i ngarraí, ná a chuirteár ann”
(More grows in the garden than is sown there)
This traditional saying can be understood both literally and symbolically, reminding us that nature — and life itself — often grows beyond what we expect or attempt to control.
Trees have long held a special place in Irish culture and mythology. Every tree creates its own ecosystem and has historically provided food, shelter, medicine, and practical materials. Because of their importance, trees were also believed to carry spiritual meaning and magical qualities.
In Celtic mythology, sacred trees known as bile (pronounced “bih-leh”) were seen as connections between worlds, similar to Yggdrasil in Norse mythology. Ancient Irish traditions, the Ogham alphabet, and Brehon Laws all reflect the deep respect our ancestors had for trees and the natural world.
The design celebrates this rich heritage of folklore, wisdom, and connection to nature through meaningful Irish storytelling.
Each t-shirt is screen-printed in Mireog studio in Co. Waterford using water-based inks on soft 100% organic cotton Earth Positive fabric. Ethically produced using renewable wind and solar energy, it is designed with sustainability, comfort, and everyday wear in mind.
Made with a relaxed women’s fit, this t-shirt is soft, comfortable, and easy to style.
The print is heat-cured for durability. To help preserve the design, we recommend washing at 30°C.
A meaningful piece of Irish design celebrating mythology, language, and nature through ethical and sustainable clothing.
