What does Chou’s Cottage sell?
Chou’s Cottage is a gift shop in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, selling handmade pieces from more than 70 small Irish designers and makers: jewellery, ceramics, candles, greeting cards, baby and kids’ items, clothing, accessories and natural skincare. Everything is sold both in the shop and online.
Where is the shop and when is it open?
6 Grubb’s Court, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, E91 Y9T4. The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm to 5pm.
Is everything made in Ireland?
Almost everything in the shop is made in Ireland by small makers, many of whom Julie and Paul know personally. A few products come from small makers elsewhere in Europe.
How much is delivery and where do you ship?
Parcels up to 5kg:
- Ireland and Northern Ireland: €6 tracked, €10 express, and free on orders over €50.
- United Kingdom: €15.
- Everywhere else: the cost is calculated at checkout. Parcels are sent from Clonmel by An Post or a trusted local courier.
When will my order be dispatched?
Within 1 to 3 working days. Working days exclude Saturdays and Sundays, and start the next business day after the order is placed.
Can I return something?
Yes. You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to request a return. Items must be unused and undamaged; the original packaging is not needed. If an item is faulty or damaged, Chou’s Cottage covers the return postage and refunds you in full. If you simply change your mind, the return postage is yours to pay and the refund covers the price of the product. Perishable goods, cosmetics and personal care items, gift cards and personalised items cannot be returned.
Can I exchange an item?
Exchanges are only possible for faulty or damaged items. Email [email protected] and we will sort it out with you.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes, from €15. A printable gift card is emailed to you within 72 hours and can be spent in the shop or online. A voucher cannot be used to buy another voucher.
Which makers do you stock?
More than 70 Irish designers and makers, each with their own page on the site — see the brands page. Tiny Studio, launched by Julie in early 2023, is the shop’s own brand, inspired by Irish landscapes, flora and wildlife.
Do you have a refill and zero-waste section?
Yes. A refill and zero-waste section was added to the shop in 2025, so customers can cut down on single-use packaging.
How do I pay?
Online payments are by card, Visa or Mastercard, on a secure checkout.
How are orders packed?
Almost 90% of orders go out in recycled or reused boxes and envelopes, with biodegradable tape.
