Ciaróg is inspired by the Irish proverb:
“Aithníonn ciaróg, ciaróg eile”
“One beetle recognises another.”
The design features the Tiger Beetle (Cicindela campestris), a striking green beetle found in Ireland, across Europe, and as far as Siberia and the Pacific region.
Known for its speed and precision, the tiger beetle is a powerful predator. It can reach speeds of up to 9 km/h, which relative to its size is equivalent to a human running at approximately 770 km/h.
This design celebrates Irish language, natural folklore, and the incredible detail of Ireland’s native wildlife.
